Elephant Man bringing ‘crazy’ energy to YUSH

Fresh from delivering his trademark energy at BRT Weekend, dancehall veteran Elephant Man is already preparing for his next major assignment: taking patrons back to school at Dream Weekend’s YUSH. 
The school party-themed event will give the self-proclaimed Energy God another opportunity to command the stage with the infectious dancing, animated performance style and extensive catalogue that have defined his career. His appearance forms part of Red Stripe’s performance partnership with YUSH.
For Elephant Man, moving from one major festival stage to another is simply part of the job. He says patrons can expect a high-energy, dance-heavy set designed to keep the venue moving from beginning to end. 
“You’re going to get hit after hit. It’s going to be non-stop energy, non-stop vibes and non-stop ‘fulljoyment’. Patrons are definitely going to get their money’s worth. Dream Weekend has moved to Montego Bay now, so it’s going to be even crazier. Big up all the fans who are coming out. It’s going to be spectacular,” he said. 
Rather than treating YUSH as just another booking, the deejay plans to lean into the playful nostalgia of the event’s concept while still delivering the unpredictable moments for which he is known. His set is expected to connect longtime supporters who grew up with his music with younger fans who continue to discover his catalogue through parties, social media, and contemporary dance culture. 
Elephant Man’s stage image is also expected to receive a makeover. The entertainer, who has long used bold dancehall fashion as an extension of his music and personality, described the look being prepared for the night as “crazy”. 
“Well, I’m not gonna give away too much, but it’s gonna be pretty crazy. You know me seh image is everything, and you have to obey your image, so you know I’m gonna be bringing that look,” he said. 
While he is keeping the complete outfit under wraps until showtime, he hinted that his signature chains and neon colours could still find their way into the final presentation. 
Beyond YUSH, Elephant Man is looking towards a busy remainder of the year, with new music, additional performances and overseas travel on his itinerary. The deejay is expected to make appearances in the US and other international markets while continuing work on new releases for his supporters. 
“Shows on top of shows on top of shows. We dropped the EP a couple of months ago, and there is a lot of new music to come. Everybody needs to visit my VEVO and YouTube channels and tune in to the new releases. You can also check my Instagram for all my upcoming shows, like New York Reggae Fest. All Energy God fans can get ready.” 
His growing international itinerary follows an important development in his career. A little over a year ago, Elephant Man was issued a United Kingdom work permit after approximately 16 years away from performing in the market. 
Returning to stages there has allowed him to reconnect with British dancehall audiences that continued to support his music throughout his absence. It has also carried personal significance, giving him more opportunities to spend time with his two children who reside in the country. 
As more music, performances and international engagements take shape, Elephant Man remains focused on maintaining the level of energy that has sustained his career across generations.
