Man nabbed after allegedly breaking into shop, stealing mostly Supligen and tin mackerel
A man has been arrested and charged after he and his uncle allegedly broke into a shop in Quashie Gap, Mavis Bank in St Andrew stealing groceries mostly Supligen, tin mackerel, and a sum of cash.
Thirty-one-year-old Quan Stephens, a handyman of Salt Hill, Mavis Bank, is facing charges of shop breaking and larceny in connection with the daring heist.
Reports from the Constant Spring Police state that between 11:45 p.m. on October 10, and 6:00 a.m. on October 11, 2025, Stephens and his uncle allegedly forced their way into the shop, making off with groceries valued at approximately $75,000.
Items reportedly stolen include 18 bottles of Supligen, 24 tins of small mackerel, 12 tins each of medium and jack mackerel, 15 tins of sardines, 10 tins of sausages, two cartons of cigarettes, $12,000 in cash, and an undetermined sum of $100 and $50 notes.
Stephens was arrested and formally charged, while his uncle's involvement remains under investigation. His court date is being finalised as police continue probing the incident.
