Spaniah Town musician arrested years after 2021 shooting
A 36-year-old musician from Spanish Town, St Catherine is now facing serious firearm charges, nearly four years after a daring daylight shooting in Kingston left a man running for his life.
Huntley Hunt, of McFarlane Crescent in the Fairview area was arrested and charged following the September 9, 2021 incident along Glebeville Avenue.
Police reports indicate that about 7:20 a.m., Hunt allegedly approached a man standing at a shop and opened gunfire. The intended victim managed to escape unharmed in a narrow getaway.
The incident was reported, sparking an investigation that remained active for years.
That probe finally led detectives to Hunt, who was apprehended at his home on March 26 during a targeted operation. He was subsequently interviewed and formally charged.
Hunt now faces charges of shooting with intent, using a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
His court date is being finalised.
